The genesis of the Arrowsmith Program of cognitive exercises lies in Barbara Arrowsmith Young’s journey of discovery and innovation to overcome her own severe learning disabilities, a description of which appears in the article, Building a Better Brain or in Chapter 2 of the book, “The Brain That Changes Itself” by Dr. Norman Doidge.

St Peter’s has an enrolment of approximately 680 children across 28 single-level classrooms. The school demonstrates a strong Catholic ethos, which is enhanced by the committed relationship between the parish and the school. Parents actively participate in classroom literacy and numeracy activities, excursions, inter-school sport, the School Board and the Parents and Friends Association, which organises a range of social activities across the year. The school has an Out of Hours Care Program.
